Suk-young U vs Dong-won Sung

Boxing Daily Report from the AI South Korea-North Jeolla promoted show at Jeonju Nahm, Jeonju,  taking place on 01/03/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the South Korea-North Jeolla Light Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Suk-young U (15 - 8 - 1) who hails from Jeonju, South Korea and Dong-won Sung(2 - 0) from Iksan, South Korea.  Both U and Sung weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hyun-jun Ye, and the three ringside judges are Yong-jae Song, Kook-young Cha and Keun-ho Do.  

Round 1: 

Sung lands a left hook followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Sung lands a cross, jab and a cross to his opponents head.  
Sung is looking to close the distance and is on target with a solid right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Sung steps inside and forces U to retreat into the blue corner.  U lands a left hook.  Sung clinches his opponent.  Sung is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Sung and breaks the clinch.

Sung closes the distance and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.

Sung tries to keep the action at long range and lands two consecutive overhand rights to his opponents head.

Round 2:

U quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a cross.  
U advances into close range and throws a left hook, but Sung holds on to his opponent.  Sung tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits U's kidney. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Sung.  
U is looking to close the distance.  Sung lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Sung switches the action to the outside and is on target with a FEARSOME cross.  U IS HURT!  U almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Sung gets on the inside and EXPLODES a FEROCIOUS left hook into his opponents face.  U IS HURT!  
Some sustained pressure from Sung could be enough to finish U!  Sung lands a mean left uppercut.  U IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 9.  U now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.  
Sung closes the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Sung tries to land a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Sung advances into close range and digs in a firm left hook to his opponents body.

U throws a left hook, but Sung ties up his opponent.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
U advances into close range.  Sung lands a double right hook to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  U almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Sung lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Sung lands two left hooks followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  Sung throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Sung pivots from in front of his opponent and digs in a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
U sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Sung lands a firm cross.

Sung is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Sung is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Sung lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  He then lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head, AND SENDS U SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 7.
