Mike McBride vs Bellamy Oliver

Boxing Daily Report from the Gore Promotions promoted show at Gore Gym, Boston,  taking place on 27/02/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Mike McBride (3 - 0) who hails from Boston, USA and Bellamy Oliver(4 - 2) from Port-de-Paix, Haiti.  McBride weighed in at 199 pounds and 5 ounces, while Oliver weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Elliot Ogle, and the three ringside judges are Richie MacIsaac, Kyle Ormiston and Charles Keath.  

Round 1: 

McBride closes the distance and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Oliver hits home with a right hook.  
McBride is looking to close the distance and drives a left hook into Oliver's body.  
McBride feints a jab, but Oliver ignores the feint and lands with a left uppercut.  
McBride advances into close range.  As Oliver tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as McBride dabs at his face checking for damage.  
McBride lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
McBride connects with a right uppercut.  
McBride finds the target with a jab.  
McBride advances into close range.  Oliver sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  McBride is on target with a right hook.  
Oliver lands a cross.  
McBride lands a left hook.  McBride clinches his opponent.  Oliver tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits McBride's kidney. The ref breaks McBride's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
McBride lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
McBride lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Oliver's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Oliver's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Oliver forces McBride to back into the ropes.  McBride throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
McBride steps inside and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.
