Richie Bortone vs Richard Catherwood

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Sunshine Coast Stadium, Sunshine Coast,  taking place on 21/03/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Australia Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Richie Bortone (9 - 5(1) - 2) who hails from Brisbane, Australia and Richard Catherwood(15 - 7 - 2) from Brisbane, Australia.  Bortone weighed in at 134 pounds and 11 ounces, while Catherwood weighed in at 134 pounds and 13 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Fraser McNabb, and the three ringside judges are Barry Forbes, Scott Martin and Francesco Ghiglia.
