Sasha Bligzna vs John Nvumbi

Boxing Daily Report from the Donnelly Boxing promoted show at Donnelly Gym, Kitwe,  taking place on 29/03/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Sasha Bligzna (11 - 0) who hails from Riga, Latvia and John Nvumbi(6 - 10 - 2) from Cape Town, South Africa.  Both Bligzna and Nvumbi weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Tamarius Miyanda, and the three ringside judges are Tavarius Kasanka, Udenwa Chizyuka and Mablevi Machila.  

Round 1: 

Bligzna pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.

Bligzna lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  As Nvumbi tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Bligzna dabs at his face checking for damage.  Bligzna has been damaged by the clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.
