Apostol á Chernev vs Dimitar Baskov

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Bulgaria-Sofia promoted show at Sofia Ankov, Sofia,  taking place on 13/03/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Bulgaria-Sofia Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Apostol á Chernev (7 - 10 - 2) who hails from Sofia, Bulgaria and Dimitar Baskov(7 - 9 - 1) from Sofia, Bulgaria.  Chernev weighed in at 154 pounds, while Baskov weighed in at 153 pounds and 11 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Serhat Eroglu, and the three ringside judges are Kamen á Kardamonov, Stoyan á Sokolov and Ilia á Anosov.

Baskov steps inside and manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Baskov lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Chernev lands an overhand right.  
Baskov lands a left hook.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Baskov's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.

Chernev is looking to keep his distance.  Baskov drives a cross into his opponents body.  
Chernev lands an overhand right, jab and an overhand right to his opponents head.  
Baskov lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Baskov lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Baskov walks Chernev down, trapping him in a neutral corner.  Baskov lands a right hook.  Baskov wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Chernev dabs at his face checking for damage.  Chernev has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Chernev throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.
