Robert McBride vs Elliot Nethery

Boxing Daily Report from the Cestrian promotions promoted show at City West Hotel, Dublin,  taking place on 27/04/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Irish Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Eurosport Ireland, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Robert McBride (12 - 3 - 1(NC)) who hails from Dublin, Ireland and Elliot Nethery(5 - 13(1) - 4) from Limerick, Ireland.  Both McBride and Nethery weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Sam Mulryan, and the three ringside judges are Anthony McNeeley, Jason Orman and Cillian Murphy.  

Round 1: 

McBride lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
McBride advances into close range and throws a left uppercut, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  McBride clinches his opponent.  McBride is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns McBride and breaks the clinch.  
McBride digs in a left uppercut to Nethery's body.  McBride clinches his opponent.  McBride throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures McBride about fouling.
