Daiki Matsuura vs Ryo Miyashiro

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Japan-Chiba promoted show at Funabashi Arima, Funabashi,  taking place on 20/02/2026:

Clearly AI Japan-Chiba have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan-Chiba Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Daiki Matsuura (5 - 3(1) - 1) who hails from Ichikawa, Japan and Ryo Miyashiro(10 - 4 - 1) from Matsudo, Japan.  Both Matsuura and Miyashiro weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Yoshi Nomura, and the three ringside judges are Hisoka Nakamura, Akira Oshita and Yoshi Oh.  

Round 1: 

Matsuura feints a jab, and then throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Miyashiro is on target with a right hook.

Miyashiro attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Matsuura's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Matsuura lands a cross.  
Miyashiro quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Miyashiro is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Miyashiro connects with an overhand left.  
Matsuura is looking to keep the action on the outside and connects with a cross.  
Miyashiro wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Matsuura dabs at his face checking for damage.  Matsuura has been damaged by the clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Matsuura is on target with a cross.
