Jose Serna vs Oro Alcon

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Plaza Mall Sur, Lima,  taking place on 07/03/2026:

Clearly Gold Coast Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Jose Serna (2 - 0) who hails from Lima, Peru and Oro Alcon(5 - 3) from Lima, Peru.  Serna weighed in at 225 pounds, while Alcon weighed in at 238 pounds and 14 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Tajo Vences, and the three ringside judges are Frisco Calle, Nicandro Quijas and Emilio Triano.  

Round 1: 

Serna lands a right hook to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right hook to the body.  
Alcon feints a cross, but Serna is not fooled and responds with a left hook.  
Serna lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the body.  As Serna tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Alcon dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Alcon gets on the inside.  Serna digs in a left hook to Alcon's liver.  
Serna digs in a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Alcon throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Serna pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Serna drives a left hook into Alcon's ribs.  
Serna steps to the outside.  Alcon hits home with a cross.  
Serna closes the distance.  Serna pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.

Serna pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.

Alcon gets on the inside.  Serna pivots to the left of his opponent.  Serna drives a left hook into his opponents body.  Serna attempts to land a left hook, but Alcon blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Alcon cuts off the ring, trapping Serna in the corner.  Serna connects with a right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Alcon's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Alcon's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Alcon's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Alcon's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.
