Michi Yamamoto vs Ichiro Kawamura

Boxing Daily Report from the ノックアウトボクシング promoted show at Korakuen Hall, Tokyo,  taking place on 20/03/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Michi Yamamoto (0 - 0) who hails from Fujisawa, Japan and Ichiro Kawamura(0 - 0 - 1) from Okazaki, Japan.  Both Yamamoto and Kawamura weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Aki Fujii, and the three ringside judges are Nori Saito, Satoshi Fuse and Ichiro Kaya.  

Round 1: 

Yamamoto closes the distance.  Yamamoto retreats back to the ropes, and waits for his opponent to attack.  Kawamura tries to tag Yamamoto on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!  
Yamamoto gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Kawamura sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Yamamoto hits home with a cross.  
Yamamoto is looking to close the distance and lands a stinging left hook.  Yamamoto clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Yamamoto pushes his forearm into Kawamura's face.  The referee warns Yamamoto and breaks the clinch.  
Kawamura pivots to the side of his opponent.  Kawamura throws a right uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Yamamoto lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Kawamura is looking to keep his distance.  Yamamoto lands a jab to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Yamamoto lands a left hook.  
Yamamoto closes the distance and hits home with a left hook.  Yamamoto clinches his opponent.  Yamamoto hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Yamamoto about fouling.  
Kawamura connects with a cross.  
Kawamura circles his opponent with a low guard, waiting for his opponent to attack.  Yamamoto lands a jab to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Yamamoto lands a jab followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Yamamoto lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Yamamoto clinches his opponent.  Kawamura tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Yamamoto's kidney. 
Yamamoto gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Kawamura throws a cross, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a sharp left hook.  
Yamamoto lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Kawamura's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Kawamura's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Kawamura switches the action to the outside.  Yamamoto lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Yamamoto closes the distance.  Kawamura attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Yamamoto's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Kawamura steps away from his opponent.  Yamamoto finds the target with a jab.  
Kawamura steps to the outside.  Yamamoto lands an overhand right.  
Kawamura tries to step out of his opponents range.  Yamamoto hits home with a cross.  
Kawamura switches the action to the outside.  Yamamoto lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Yamamoto gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Yamamoto holds on to his opponent.  Yamamoto is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Yamamoto to stop fouling.  
Yamamoto gets on the inside and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Kawamura pivots to the right of his opponent.  Yamamoto attempts to land a jab, but Kawamura sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.
