Ryuu Ashikaga vs Kei Ohta

Boxing Daily Report from the ノックアウトボクシング promoted show at Korakuen Hall, Tokyo,  taking place on 20/03/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 4 round matchup are Ryuu Ashikaga (1 - 0) who hails from Kasugai, Japan and Kei Ohta(3 - 1 - 1) from Tokyo, Japan.  Both Ashikaga and Ohta weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Aki Fujii, and the three ringside judges are Nori Saito, Satoshi Fuse and Ichiro Kaya.  

Round 1: 

Ashikaga closes the distance.  Ashikaga sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Ashikaga lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Ashikaga clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Ashikaga pushes his forearm into Ohta's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Ashikaga.  
Ashikaga advances into close range and attempts to land a right uppercut, but Ohta sidesteps and counters with a right hook to Ashikaga's body.  
Ashikaga cuts off the ring, trapping Ohta on the ropes.  Ashikaga hits home with a cross.
