Boxing Daily Report from the Mbeki Promotions promoted show at Shehu Adekunde Gym, Aba,  taking place on 24/02/2026:

Clearly Mbeki Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Nigeria-Abia State Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are George Novia (8 - 0) who hails from Aba, Nigeria and Moses Bassey(7 - 1) from Umuahia, Nigeria.  Both Novia and Bassey weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Emem Gberu, and the three ringside judges are Nwankwo Nwoke, Ali Sharaf and Matthew Offoin.
