Neil Villalobos vs David Clowney

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Connecticut promoted show at Circle Hotel, Bridgeport,  taking place on 26/03/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fight Now TV, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Neil Villalobos (12(4) - 0) who hails from Los Angeles, USA and David Clowney(2 - 9 - 1) from Buffalo, USA.  Villalobos weighed in at 167 pounds and 5 ounces, while Clowney weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is John Boal, and the three ringside judges are Mike Dysart, Ian Parry and Michael Shanks.

Villalobos gets on the inside.  Villalobos digs in a left hook to his opponents ribs.  Villalobos clinches his opponent.  Villalobos is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Villalobos uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Clowney's kidney. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  Clowney wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Villalobos dabs at his face checking for damage.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Villalobos.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.
