Aaron Riddell vs Jamie Mungle

Boxing Daily Report from the Simasiku Promotions promoted show at North Shore Bier, North Shore,  taking place on 25/03/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the New Zealand-Auckland Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Aaron Riddell (10 - 4 - 1) who hails from Auckland, New Zealand and Jamie Mungle(13 - 7) from Manukau, New Zealand.  Riddell weighed in at 135 pounds, while Mungle weighed in at 134 pounds and 9 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Hamahona Kurawhatia, and the three ringside judges are Corey Hopper, George Brain and Mark Kinzey.

Mungle advances into close range and walks his opponent down, trapping him in a corner.  Mungle wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Riddell dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Riddell lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.

Mungle closes the distance.  Riddell pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a sharp left hook.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Mungle.  That has caused a slight cut in the corner of.  
Riddell tries to step out of his opponents range and hits home with an overhand right.  
Mungle steps back and leans on the ropes with his guard up.  Riddell steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  
Riddell feints a left hook, but Mungle does not fall for it and responds with a right uppercut.
