Dutch Joens vs Birk Gawel

Boxing Daily Report from the Jacob Howes promoted show at Jacob Gym, Munich,  taking place on 21/03/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Dutch Joens (1 - 0) who hails from Heilbronn, Germany and Birk Gawel(0 - 6(1)) from Hamburg, Germany.  Joens weighed in at 243 pounds and 5 ounces, while Gawel weighed in at 219 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Kiefer Lab, and the three ringside judges are Archard Labus, Deutsch Birkel and Manfried Kubach.

Joens advances into close range.  Frustration is starting to boil over for Gawel now.   He throws a low uppercut...that landed south of the border! The ref tells Gawel to keep his punches above the belt.  He gives Joens time to recover.

Joens steps inside and lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the head.

Gawel is getting frustrated here.   He steps inside, but then strikes Joens with a blatant low blow!  The ref takes no action over the foul, despite complaints from Joens.
