Nicholas Starratt vs Woo Soong

Boxing Daily Report from the Rattlesnake Promotions promoted show at County Coliseum, El Paso,  taking place on 11/04/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Nicholas Starratt (13(4) - 0) who hails from Anchorage, USA and Woo Soong(5 - 9 - 6) from Tianjin, China.  Both Starratt and Soong weighed in at 105 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Mark Marrufo, and the three ringside judges are Henry Messer, Rob Smith and Asif Farra.  

Round 1: 

Starratt gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Starratt lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Starratt is looking to close the distance.  Soong throws a right uppercut, but Starratt holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Starratt pushes his forearm into Soong's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Starratt to stop fouling.

Starratt advances into close range and digs in a solid left hook to Soong's body.  
Soong walks Starratt onto the ropes.  Starratt lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.

Starratt closes the distance.  Starratt senses Soong is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Starratt lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  He continues the combination and lands consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body, AND KNOCKS SOONG DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  It looks like Soong has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.

Starratt senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Soong and just needs the right shot.  Starratt lands a double right hook to his opponents head, DROPPING SOONG TO THE CANVAS!  He is unable to get up before the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Starratt!
