Connor Buchannon vs Dominic Shittu

Boxing Daily Report from the Rattlesnake Promotions promoted show at Palmer Events Center, Houston,  taking place on 10/04/2026:

Clearly Rattlesnake Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Connor Buchannon (10 - 0) who hails from Lafayette, USA and Dominic Shittu(12 - 5 - 1) from Lagos, Nigeria.  Both Buchannon and Shittu weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Chris Suit, and the three ringside judges are Orlando Merlin, Leon Zamorano and Paul Kernell.  

Round 1: 

Buchannon is looking to close the distance and drives a left hook into Shittu's body.  
Buchannon quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Shittu throws a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Buchannon drops his hands, and waves his opponent in.  Shittu throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Buchannon closes the distance and drives a right hook into Shittu's body.  
Buchannon sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with an overhand right.  
Buchannon is looking to close the distance.  Buchannon sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.  
Buchannon steps inside and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Buchannon drives a right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Buchannon digs in a left hook to Shittu's body.  
Buchannon walks Shittu into the corner.  Buchannon lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Buchannon sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.

Shittu wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Buchannon dabs at his face checking for damage.  Buchannon has taken some damage from that accidental headbutt.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.
