Michael Cart vs Fier Van Blommeghem

Boxing Daily Report from the Kurusu Promotions promoted show at Brough Park Stadium, Newcastle,  taking place on 16/03/2026:

Clearly Kurusu Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are The New 1 Michael Cart (18 - 0) who hails from Manchester, UK and Fier Van Blommeghem(8 - 13(1) - 2) from Antwerp, Belgium.  Cart weighed in at 242 pounds, while Van Blommeghem weighed in at 225 pounds and 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Clinton Torrens, and the three ringside judges are Neil McClimans, Andy Creech and Henry Paterson.  

Round 1: 

Cart is looking to close the distance and hits home with a solid left hook.  Cart ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Cart pushes his forearm into Van Blommeghem's face.  The referee warns Cart and breaks the clinch.  
Cart digs in a right uppercut to Van Blommeghem's ribs.

Van Blommeghem pivots to the side of his opponent.  Van Blommeghem attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Cart's complaints and signals for the action to continue.

Cart cuts off the ring, trapping Van Blommeghem in a corner.  Cart is on target with a left uppercut.  Cart ties up his opponent.  Cart is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Cart's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Cart drives a left uppercut into Van Blommeghem's body.  
Cart lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a right uppercut to the body.  Cart clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Cart pushes his forearm into Van Blommeghem's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Cart.
