Waqas Murad vs Akbar Purandeswari

Boxing Daily Report from the AI India-Tamil Nadu promoted show at Azam Abdelnour Gym, Chennai,  taking place on 01/04/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the India-Tamil Nadu Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Waqas Murad (6 - 6 - 1) who hails from Chennai, India and Akbar Purandeswari(7 - 3 - 4) from Chennai, India.  Murad weighed in at 248 pounds and 3 ounces, while Purandeswari weighed in at 249 pounds and 4 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Girish Mehra, and the three ringside judges are Jyotish Narra, Jyotish Narra and Randeep Sharma.
