Zachary Purdie vs Dmitri Zhitnik

Boxing Daily Report from the Rattlesnake Promotions promoted show at Alamodome Indoor Arena, San Antonio,  taking place on 18/04/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Zachary Purdie (19(13) - 2) who hails from Georgetown, Guyana and Dmitri Zhitnik(16(9) - 6(4)) from Taganrog, Russia.  Both Purdie and Zhitnik weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Dom Somerville, and the three ringside judges are Rob Smith, Ian Hesson and Paul Kernell.  

Round 1: 

Zhitnik hits home with a ramrod jab.  
Purdie attempts to land a jab, but Zhitnik blocks the shot and counters with a cross.

Purdie throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  It looks like Zhitnik has now recovered from that shot earlier.  
Purdie steps to the outside and attempts to land an overhand right, but Zhitnik dodges the shot and counters with a solid left hook.  
Purdie lands a jab to the head, a jab to the body and a cross to the head.  
Purdie lowers his guard, attempting to draw a lead.  Zhitnik is on target with a cross.

Purdie tries to step out of his opponents range.  Purdie lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head, AND ZHITNIK IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He is unable to get up before the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Purdie!
