Rico Gloria vs Hernan Almodovar

Boxing Daily Report from the Big Bang Promotions promoted show at Copper Box Arena, London,  taking place on 08/05/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Channel 5, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Rough  Justice Rico Gloria (12(10) - 0) who hails from Belo Horizonte, Brazil and Hernan Almodovar(15(2) - 4) from Buenos Aires, Argentina.  Both Gloria and Almodovar weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Chris Power, and the three ringside judges are Rob Heriot, Edwyn Whitfield and Andrew McCargo.  

Round 1: 

Gloria lands a jab, cross and a jab to his opponents head.  
Gloria sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Gloria throws a jab, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Almodovar strikes his opponents body with a jab.

Gloria lands a jab to the body followed by a cross to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Almodovar recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Almodovar tries to step out of his opponents range.  Gloria lands a solid cross.  
Gloria is on target with a sharp cross.  
Gloria switches the action to the outside and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Gloria is looking to keep his distance and strikes his opponents body with a stinging cross.  
Almodovar throws a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a stinging right hook to Almodovar's ribcage.

Almodovar walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Almodovar pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a cross followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.

Gloria steps to the outside and lands with a spiteful jab.  
Gloria lands a cross to the body, and then to the head.  
Gloria connects with a CRUSHING left hook.  ALMODOVAR WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Gloria throws a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  Almodovar almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Gloria tries to step out of his opponents range.  Gloria quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with an overhand right.  
Gloria lands a jab to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  He then lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Almodovar manouvers Gloria onto the ropes.  Almodovar lands a sharp jab.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Almodovar's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Almodovar's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.
