Elderson Mbanefo vs Sam Burns

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Sunshine Coast Stadium, Sunshine Coast,  taking place on 23/05/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the Commonwealth Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Elderson Mbanefo (17(4) - 3) who hails from Buguma, Nigeria and Sam Burns(15 - 1) from Perth, Australia.  Mbanefo weighed in at 126 pounds, while Burns weighed in at 125 pounds And 11 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Sammy Feamster, and the three ringside judges are Glynn Profit, Pepe Brunetti and Seth Urbano.
