Deion Mbun vs Marten Kuiper

Boxing Daily Report from the AI South Africa-Gauteng promoted show at Ian Van Ryneveld Gym, Soweto,  taking place on 02/04/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the South Africa-Gauteng Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Deion Mbun (4 - 1 - 1) who hails from Tembisa, South Africa and Marten Kuiper(2 - 1) from Soweto, South Africa.  Mbun weighed in at 154 pounds, while Kuiper weighed in at 153 pounds and 6 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Amon Makwetla, and the three ringside judges are Mahdi Jamin, Asavela Sikali and Uba Akamenya.  

Round 1: 

Mbun pivots to the left of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.
