Ken McDonald vs Chris Maguire

Boxing Daily Report from the Elliot Britton promoted show at Kings Center, Oxford,  taking place on 27/04/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the British-Southern England Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ken McDonald (13 - 4 - 3) who hails from London, UK and Chris Maguire(11(1) - 0) from Bristol, UK.  Both McDonald and Maguire weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is David McCrae, and the three ringside judges are Bob Noon, Theo Coslett and Rob Heriot.  

Round 1: 

Maguire steps inside and lands two right hook's to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  Maguire holds on to his opponent.  Maguire leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
McDonald throws a left hook, but Maguire holds on to his opponent.  The ref separates the two fighters.

Maguire closes the distance and forces McDonald to retreat onto the ropes.  Maguire sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Maguire tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
McDonald tries to keep the action at long range.  Maguire is on target with a solid overhand left.
