Nick Hay vs Ashley Tough

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-New Jersey promoted show at Bart Menia Gym, Paterson,  taking place on 11/04/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-New Jersey Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Nick Hay (6 - 6 - 2) who hails from Newark, USA and Ashley Tough(4 - 6(1) - 5) from Newark, USA.  Both Hay and Tough weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Theo Halley, and the three ringside judges are Valentino Brunelli, Sean Munn and Lee Bowell.  

Round 1: 

Hay advances into close range and is on target with a left hook.  
Hay hits home with a left hook.  
Hay switches the action to the outside and connects with a cross.  
Hay steps inside and drives a left hook into Tough's body.  
Hay steps away from his opponent and is on target with a cross.  
Hay is looking to close the distance.  Tough attempts to land a left hook, but Hay sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.

Hay advances into close range and lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Tough quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Hay attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action and gives Tough time to recover.  
Tough pivots to the left of his opponent.  Hay throws a left hook, but is not on target.  Hay ties up his opponent.  Hay tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Tough's kidney. 
Tough retreats back to the ropes, and waits for his opponent to attack.  Hay tries to tag Tough on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Hay's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Tough's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.

Tough throws a left hook, but Hay ties up his opponent.  Tough pushes his forearm into Hay's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.
