Brendan Preddy vs Wayne Helmke

Boxing Daily Report from the Monster Promotions promoted show at Goulbourn Recreation Centre, Ottawa,  taking place on 09/05/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Brendan Preddy (4 - 0) who hails from Edmonton, Canada and Wayne Helmke(3 - 4 - 2) from St. Louis, USA.  Preddy weighed in at 135 pounds, while Helmke weighed in at 134 pounds and 2 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Clint Duthie, and the three ringside judges are Denton Cadden, Dave Sleigh and Mark Nixon.  

Round 1: 

Preddy closes the distance and is on target with a left uppercut.
