Boxing Daily Report from the AI Australia-Queensland promoted show at Cairns Convention Centre, Cairns,  taking place on 13/04/2026:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a tournament fight from SLW.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are John Reedy (1 - 7 - 3) who hails from Wellington, New Zealand and Ben Lawhead(1 - 7 - 1) from Canberra, Australia.  Both Reedy and Lawhead weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Brett Lyn, and the three ringside judges are Neil Cookston, Jacob Connelly and Joey Kenefick.

Lawhead is looking to close the distance.  Reedy wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Lawhead dabs at his face checking for damage.
