Shankar Basu vs Baldev Narine

Boxing Daily Report from the AI India-Uttar Pradesh promoted show at Kanpur ´++Anjaneyulu, Kanpur,  taking place on 12/04/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the India Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on TEN Sports, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Shankar Basu (9 - 10 - 2) who hails from Lucknow, India and Baldev Narine(11 - 6 - 4) from Surat, India.  Basu weighed in at 139 pounds and 5 ounces, while Narine weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Abhay Beharry, and the three ringside judges are Lochan Rao, Indra Ratanpuri and Dayaram Bala.
