Ancaeus Gekas vs Darrion Anastos

Boxing Daily Report from the Athens Boxing Club promoted show at Greece-Attica Gym, Athens,  taking place on 20/03/2026:

Clearly Athens Boxing Club have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Greece-Attica Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ancaeus Gekas (8 - 7(1) - 1) who hails from Athens, Greece and Darrion Anastos(2 - 2) from Athens, Greece.  Both Gekas and Anastos weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Archemorus Callas, and the three ringside judges are Christophoros Kallas, Eugene Loris and Darrien Spanos.  

Round 1: 

Anastos advances into close range and cuts off the ring, trapping Gekas in a corner.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Gekas dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Gekas steps inside.  Gekas pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Anastos digs in a right hook to his opponents body.

Gekas attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Anastos to the neutral corner.  He tells Gekas he will lose a point if he continues to foul.
