Waqas Hamed vs Clinton Ayensu

Boxing Daily Report from the Quansah Promotions promoted show at Accra Zakari, Accra,  taking place on 16/04/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Ghana-Greater Accra Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Waqas Hamed (9 - 7 - 2) who hails from Accra, Ghana and Clinton Ayensu(7 - 9 - 2) from Accra, Ghana.  Both Hamed and Ayensu weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Shevon Adusei, and the three ringside judges are Kabonero Gyimah, Aaron Adams and Corey Offei.  

Round 1: 

Ayensu forces Hamed to retreat into a corner.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Ayensu dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Hamed is looking to keep his distance.  Hamed feints a left, and then lands a cross.  
Hamed throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action and gives Ayensu time to recover.  
Hamed steps away from his opponent and drives a cross into Ayensu's body.  
Hamed lands a cross.  
Hamed is on target with an overhand left.  
Ayensu attempts to land a left hook, but Hamed blocks the shot and counters with a right hook to Ayensu's ribcage.  
Ayensu drives a right hook into Hamed's ribs.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Hamed's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Ayensu's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.
