Gabriele Alboni vs Shin Konishi

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Zambia-Copperbelt promoted show at Kitwe Juma, Kitwe,  taking place on 25/04/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a tournament fight from Zambia-Copperbelt 2025 H2H.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on ZNBC, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Gabriele Alboni (15 - 4(3) - 1) who hails from Genoa, Italy and Shin Konishi(12 - 6 - 3) from Tokyo, Japan.  Alboni weighed in at 200 pounds, while Konishi weighed in at 199 pounds and 12 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Vashon Kalunga, and the three ringside judges are Makalo Mwala, Kaleb Mukwena and Lamech Chawinga.  

Round 1: 

Konishi pivots to the left of his opponent.  Alboni lands a jab.  
Konishi is on target with a cross to his opponents body.  
Alboni tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a straight 1 - 2.

Konishi is looking to close the distance and cuts off the ring, trapping Alboni in a corner.  Konishi pivots to the right of his opponent and digs in a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  Alboni wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Konishi dabs at his face checking for damage.  Konishi has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.
