Ayabulela Mogoeng vs Jean Bekker

Boxing Daily Report from the Quick Tan Promotions promoted show at Ofosu-Ayeh Gym, Khayelitsha,  taking place on 01/04/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Ayabulela Mogoeng (1 - 0) who hails from Soweto, South Africa and Jean Bekker(2 - 2) from Umlazi, South Africa.  Both Mogoeng and Bekker weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Rob Ndombe, and the three ringside judges are La Vonn Dorkenoo, Madisha Mini and Madisha Mini.  

Round 1: 

Mogoeng lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.

Mogoeng is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. As they grapple, Mogoeng pushes his forearm into Bekker's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Mogoeng about fouling.

Bekker sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a left uppercut into Mogoeng's ribs.  
Mogoeng sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Mogoeng hits home with a cross.  
Bekker quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Mogoeng lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Mogoeng gets on the inside and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Mogoeng gets on the inside and lands a left hook, right hook and a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Mogoeng lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents head.  
Mogoeng advances into close range.  Bekker throws a left hook, but Mogoeng clinches his opponent.  Mogoeng tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Bekker behind the head.
