Nemos Stavrou vs Ignatius Laskaris

Boxing Daily Report from the Athens Boxing Club promoted show at Athens Gonce, Athens,  taking place on 21/04/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Greece Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on ERT1, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Nemos Stavrou (13(4) - 3(1)) who hails from Athens, Greece and Ignatius Laskaris(13 - 4(1) - 3) from Athens, Greece.  Both Stavrou and Laskaris weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Gregoire Lagos, and the three ringside judges are Anstice Tomaras, Uranus Barlas and Darrien Spanos.  

Round 1: 

Stavrou tries to land a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Stavrou is looking to keep his distance.  Laskaris sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Laskaris throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.

Stavrou throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Laskaris to the neutral corner.  He tells Stavrou he will lose a point if he continues to foul.
