Aki Matsumoto vs Hajime Kikuchi

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Japan-Hokkaido promoted show at Sapporo Imada, Sapporo,  taking place on 22/04/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan-Hokkaido Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Aki Matsumoto (16(1) - 2 - 1) who hails from Sapporo, Japan and Hajime Kikuchi(5 - 17 - 4) from Sapporo, Japan.  Both Matsumoto and Kikuchi weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Michi Kaneko, and the three ringside judges are Jiro Yokoyama, Kyo Kawabata and Michi Kaneko.  

Round 1: 

Matsumoto finds the target with a jab.
