Ubanwa Chimbetu vs Zach Rugeje

Boxing Daily Report from the Harare Boxing Club promoted show at Chitungwiza Mumbengegwi, Chitungwiza,  taking place on 03/04/2026:

Clearly Harare Boxing Club have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Zimbabwe Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Joy TV, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Ubanwa Chimbetu (7(1) - 7) who hails from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and Zach Rugeje(13 - 3 - 2) from Harare, Zimbabwe.  Both Chimbetu and Rugeje weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Oliver Magwa, and the three ringside judges are Peabo Chikwava, Rex Nyabusha and Bryn Chinmano.
