Gareth Pryce vs Malcolm Fitzsimmons

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Sunshine Coast Stadium, Sunshine Coast,  taking place on 02/05/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Australia-Queensland Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SBS1, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Gareth Pryce (6 - 5) who hails from Brisbane, Australia and Malcolm Fitzsimmons(7 - 3 - 2) from Brisbane, Australia.  Both Pryce and Fitzsimmons weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ian Rabb, and the three ringside judges are Scott Martin, Mark Taggert and Ewan Duffy.  

Round 1: 

Pryce steps to the outside.  Fitzsimmons attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action and gives Pryce time to recover.
