Hitoshi Yamamoto vs Goro Goya

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Japan-Chiba promoted show at Funabashi Morita, Funabashi,  taking place on 01/05/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan-Chiba Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Hitoshi Yamamoto (9 - 6(1) - 2) who hails from Kashiwa, Japan and Goro Goya(3 - 11 - 1) from Ichikawa, Japan.  Yamamoto weighed in at 167 pounds and 14 ounces, while Goya weighed in at 167 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Eiji Ozaki, and the three ringside judges are Yoshi Uehara, Akira Oshita and Mikio Gima.
