Jose Rafael vs Jerrold Garcia

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Plaza de Sol y Sombra, Lima,  taking place on 30/05/2026:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the South American Cruiserweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Jose Rafael (19(13) - 0) who hails from Huacho, Peru and Jerrold Garcia(9 - 6(1)) from Lima, Peru.  Both Rafael and Garcia weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Jax Amaro, and the three ringside judges are Juan Villano, Saturnin Caraballo and Joaquin Gomez.  

Round 1: 

Rafael is looking to close the distance.  Garcia throws a left uppercut, but Rafael clinches his opponent.  Rafael leans on his opponent using all his weight. Garcia throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref breaks Rafael's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Rafael closes the distance and throws a right uppercut, but his opponent steps away from the punch.  Rafael ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Garcia pushes his forearm into Rafael's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Garcia throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a solid right uppercut.
