Mikio Saito vs Aki Kuwahara

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Japan-Tokyo promoted show at Dai Tano Gym, Tokyo,  taking place on 01/05/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Japan-Tokyo Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Mikio Saito (10 - 5 - 3) who hails from Tokyo, Japan and Aki Kuwahara(12 - 4 - 1) from Hachioji, Japan.  Both Saito and Kuwahara weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Dai Ishikawa, and the three ringside judges are Ichiro Kaya, Takeo Kibe and Ichiro Tsukamoto.
