Waqar Akniouene vs Zain Gilles

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Algeria-Oran promoted show at Syed Belkaroui Gym, Oran,  taking place on 13/04/2026:

Clearly AI Algeria-Oran have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Algeria-Oran Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Waqar Akniouene (11 - 4) who hails from Oran, Algeria and Zain Gilles(9 - 6 - 2) from Oran, Algeria.  Akniouene weighed in at 147 pounds, while Gilles weighed in at 146 pounds and 13 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Ali Khencheli, and the three ringside judges are Asif Salem, Amer Aissou and Aftab Mona.
