Shayan Sharif vs Phil Bevans

Boxing Daily Report from the Smoking Joe promoted show at Walter Pyramid, Long Beach,  taking place on 25/05/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  On the line tonight is the USA Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Shayan Sharif (15(13) - 0) who hails from Bakersfield, USA and Phil Bevans(14 - 7(5) - 1) from Joliet, USA.  Both Sharif and Bevans weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Mark Pizarro, and the three ringside judges are Robert Juarez, Billy Fergusson and Michael Pride.  

Round 1: 

Bevans closes the distance.  Sharif lands two right hooks followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Bevans gets on the inside and is on target with a right uppercut.  
Sharif is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Sharif lands with a stiff jab.  Sharif throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Sharif tries to land a cross, but Bevans slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Bevans manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Bevans throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Sharif's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Sharif lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Sharif tries to step out of his opponents range and hits home with a solid overhand right.  Sharif attempts to land a jab, but Bevans slips the shot and counters with a sharp right hook.  
Bevans closes the distance and walks Sharif down, trapping him in the blue corner.  Sharif lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Sharif tries to land a right uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Sharif connects with a solid overhand left.  Sharif throws an overhand right, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Sharif lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Sharif lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Sharif hits the target with a ramrod jab.  
Bevans closes the distance.  Sharif drives a stinging right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Bevans walks Sharif into a corner.  Sharif lands a left hook, left uppercut and a right hook to his opponents head.  
Bevans is on target with a firm right hook.  Bevans attempts to land a right hook, but Sharif blocks the shot and counters with a stinging right hook.  
Bevans walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Bevans hits home with a left uppercut.  
Sharif lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Bevans manouvers Sharif into the red corner.  Bevans pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a firm jab to his opponents body.  
Sharif throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Bevans steps inside and connects with a left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Sharif's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Bevans's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Bevans sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Bevans drives a left hook into Sharif's liver.  Bevans attempts to land a left hook, but Sharif sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Sharif is looking to keep his distance and lands an overhand left, cross and an overhand left to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Sharif knows Bevans is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Sharif lands a left hook, right hook and a cross to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands two left hooks followed by a cross to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS BEVANS DOWN!  He is still struggling to his feet as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Sharif!
