Juan Chan vs Diego Vela

Boxing Daily Report from the Rourke & Salvador promoted show at Ginasio do Ibirapuera, Rio de Janeiro,  taking place on 23/05/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the South American Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SporTV, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Juan Chan (18 - 1) who hails from Recife, Brazil and Diego Vela(20 - 1) from Ciudad del Este, Paraguay.  Both Chan and Vela weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Alejandro Betancourt, and the three ringside judges are Xaverius Reposa, Juan Ramo and Marco Ponciano.
