Ryuu Ashikaga vs Yutaka Soda

Boxing Daily Report from the ノックアウトボクシング promoted show at ノックアウトボクシング Gym, Osaka,  taking place on 25/04/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Ryuu Ashikaga (2 - 0) who hails from Kasugai, Japan and Yutaka Soda(3 - 4) from Kawaguchi, Japan.  Both Ashikaga and Soda weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Michi Yokoyama, and the three ringside judges are Yuji Koizumi, Jun Nakahara and Mitsuru Imamura.  

Round 1: 

Ashikaga pivots to the right of his opponent and hits home with a cross.  
Soda switches the action to the outside and throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Ashikaga lands a cross, jab and a cross to his opponents head.  
Ashikaga digs in a left hook to Soda's body.  
Ashikaga sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.  
Ashikaga sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Soda lands a jab.  
Soda tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  
Ashikaga steps inside and lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Ashikaga pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Ashikaga lands a right hook.  
Ashikaga pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Soda dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Ashikaga sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a right hook.  
Ashikaga closes the distance and is on target with a left hook to Soda's body.  
Soda tries to keep the action at long range.  Ashikaga sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Soda's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Soda's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Ashikaga steps inside.  Soda throws a right hook, but Ashikaga holds on to his opponent.  Ashikaga is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Ashikaga steps inside.  Ashikaga sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Ashikaga is on target with an overhand right.  
Ashikaga steps inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Ashikaga connects with a cross.

Ashikaga is looking to close the distance.  Ashikaga pivots to the right of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.  
Ashikaga is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  Ashikaga clinches his opponent.  Ashikaga throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Ashikaga leans on his opponent using all his weight. As they grapple, Ashikaga pushes his forearm into Soda's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.
