Sammy Ormiston vs Michael Cormack

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Australia-Queensland promoted show at Cairns Convention Centre, Cairns,  taking place on 12/05/2026:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a tournament fight from SLW.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Sammy Ormiston (10 - 6) who hails from Brisbane, Australia and Michael Cormack(6 - 7 - 6) from Christchurch, New Zealand.  Both Ormiston and Cormack weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Brin Gianquinto, and the three ringside judges are Matthew Curto, Chris Saghatelyan and Amon Soutar.

As Ormiston tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Cormack dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Ormiston gets on the inside.  Cormack tries to land a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook to his opponents liver.  
Cormack is on target with a left hook.  
Ormiston lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Cormack gets on the inside.  Ormiston drives a left hook into Cormack's body.  
Cormack is on target with a right hook.  
Cormack switches the action to the outside.  Ormiston hits home with an overhand right.
