Michi Machi vs Takeo Fukushima

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Ariake Urban Sports Park, Tokyo,  taking place on 06/06/2026:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a final eliminator for the Japan-Tokyo Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Michi Machi (11 - 12 - 2) who hails from Tokyo, Japan and Takeo Fukushima(8 - 12 - 5) from Tokyo, Japan.  Machi weighed in at 226 pounds and 4 ounces, while Fukushima weighed in at 236 pounds and 6 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Aki Fujii, and the three ringside judges are Isamu Okimoto, Yasushi Shishido and Kaede Toyama.  

Round 1: 

Machi is on target with a jab.

Machi digs in a right hook to Fukushima's body.  Fukushima wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Machi has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Fukushima is on target with a left hook.  Fukushima tries to land a cross, but Machi sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.
