Michi Sakamoto vs Shinji Yokota

Boxing Daily Report from the Gold Coast Promotions promoted show at Tokyo International Forum, Tokyo,  taking place on 29/05/2026:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the East Asian Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Michi Sakamoto (15 - 3) who hails from Tokyo, Japan and Shinji Yokota(19 - 5 - 3) from Nagoya, Japan.  Both Sakamoto and Yokota weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Yasushi Shishido, and the three ringside judges are Dai Ishikawa, Takeo Kibe and Kazuhiko Yasuda.
