Niall MacConnell vs Ethan Callacghan

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Ireland-Munster promoted show at Waterford McCormick, Waterford,  taking place on 24/05/2026:

Clearly AI Ireland-Munster have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Irish-Munster Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Niall MacConnell (7 - 10 - 1) who hails from Waterford, Ireland and Ethan Callacghan(9 - 11 - 1) from Cork, Ireland.  MacConnell weighed in at 160 pounds, while Callacghan weighed in at 159 pounds and 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Conor McCrory, and the three ringside judges are Joshua Fylan, Killian Corcoran and Kieran Mulloy.  

Round 1: 

Callacghan closes the distance and walks his opponent down, trapping him in a neutral corner.  Callacghan quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a left uppercut.
