David Matteson vs Verdun Platini

Boxing Daily Report from the TFI promoted show at Floyd Little Athletic Center, New Haven,  taking place on 27/06/2026:

Clearly TFI have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are David Matteson (8 - 0) who hails from Wichita, USA and Verdun Platini(9 - 10(1) - 3) from Laval, Canada.  Matteson weighed in at 140 pounds, while Platini weighed in at 139 pounds and 8 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Ethan Boliver, and the three ringside judges are Davie Fitzroy, Inigo Kelton and John Hilton.  

Round 1: 

Matteson steps inside.  Matteson pivots to the left of his opponent.  Platini attempts to land a left uppercut, but Matteson slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.
