Fresco Rubio vs Rodrigo Palomino

Boxing Daily Report from the Rourke & Salvador promoted show at Asuncion Tabora, Asuncion,  taking place on 24/05/2026:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Fresco Rubio (7 - 0) who hails from Ciudad del Este, Paraguay and Rodrigo Palomino(0 - 3 - 4) from Asuncion, Paraguay.  Rubio weighed in at 146 pounds and 3 ounces, while Palomino weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Senon Chino, and the three ringside judges are Senon Chino, Ricardo Rita and Lorenzo Segundo.  

Round 1: 

Rubio finds the target with a ramrod jab.  
Rubio lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.

Rubio sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Palomino tries to land a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Palomino steps inside and walks Rubio down, trapping him on the ropes.  Rubio drives a left uppercut into Palomino's liver.  Rubio clinches his opponent.  Palomino is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Palomino.  
Rubio is on target with a right hook.  Rubio holds on to his opponent.  Rubio is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Rubio about fouling.  
Rubio lands a jab to the head, a jab to the body and a cross to the head.  
Palomino tries to land a jab, but Rubio blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.

As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Rubio dabs at his face checking for damage.
