Montana Ortega vs Juan Zevallos

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Mexico-Jalisco promoted show at Luis Jerez Gym, Zapopan,  taking place on 26/05/2026:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Mexico-Jalisco Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Montana Ortega (11 - 2 - 4) who hails from Guadalajara, Mexico and Juan Zevallos(7 - 8 - 3) from Guadalajara, Mexico.  Both Ortega and Zevallos weighed in at 112 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Xavier Fontanez, and the three ringside judges are Cisco Amador, Cuba Tiscareno and Miguel Alviso.  

Round 1: 

Ortega is on target with a jab.  
Zevallos throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Ortega is looking to close the distance and digs in a right hook to Zevallos's ribs.
