Orji Maina vs Azubuike Ekubo

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Nigeria-Lagos State promoted show at Lagos Orelesi, Lagos,  taking place on 27/05/2026:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Nigeria-Lagos State Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Orji Maina (8 - 14 - 2) who hails from Lagos, Nigeria and Azubuike Ekubo(10 - 7 - 3) from Lagos, Nigeria.  Maina weighed in at 226 pounds and 11 ounces, while Ekubo weighed in at 234 pounds and 6 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Olufemi Udah, and the three ringside judges are Khalid Hafeez, Nwankwo George and Robert Oliseh.
